Ingredients
- 3 cups diced cooked ham
- 2 lb potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 1 can cream of chicken soup
- ¾ cup milk
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- Pepper, to taste
Directions
- Heat the oven to 375°F and grease a baking dish.
- Layer the sliced potatoes, onion, and diced ham in the dish. Sprinkle with pepper.
- Mix the cream of chicken soup and milk until combined, then pour the mixture over the layers.
- Cover the dish tightly with foil. Bake for 60–75 minutes, until the potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork.
- Remove the foil and sprinkle the cheddar over the top. Bake uncovered for 10 more minutes, until the cheese is melted.
Quick tip: Slice the potatoes as evenly and thinly as you can so they cook through at the same rate. Check that the potatoes are tender before adding the cheese; thicker slices may need a little more covered baking time.
