This Labor Day weekend, the Spokane Symphony is offering two free outdoor concerts, making it one of the easiest—and most enjoyable—ways to experience live orchestral music with family and friends. Pack a lawn chair, bring a picnic, and discover one of Spokane’s greatest cultural treasures.

What makes these concerts even more remarkable is who’s performing them.

For a city the size of Spokane, we are incredibly fortunate to have a symphony orchestra of this caliber. When people think of world-class orchestras, they picture Seattle, Portland, Chicago, or New York. Yet right here in Spokane, professional musicians perform concerts that rival those in much larger metropolitan areas.

The Spokane Symphony has been enriching our community for more than 80 years, presenting everything from classical masterworks and Broadway favorites to film scores, holiday concerts, and family performances. Many cities our size simply don’t have access to a professional orchestra of this quality.

Even more impressive, the Symphony performs in one of the most beautiful concert halls in the Pacific Northwest—the historic Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox. It’s one of those Spokane treasures that’s easy to overlook until you experience it for yourself.

Labor Day Concert
Comstock Park (South Hill)
6:00–7:30 p.m.

Bring a blanket or lawn chair, pack a picnic, and enjoy one last celebration of summer with the full orchestra. Come early if you’d like to explore the Fall Arts Preview beginning at 4:30 p.m., followed by a musical opening act at 4:45 p.m. before the Symphony takes the stage at 6:00 p.m.
