Summer isn’t over yet.
August always seems to go by way too fast. One minute we’re right in the middle of summer, and the next we’re talking about fall. But we still have some beautiful Spokane summer days ahead of us, so here are a few fun things to do before August slips away.
1. Grab Lunch at Riverfront Eats
Tuesday, August 25 | 11 a.m.–2 p.m. | Riverfront Park
If you can sneak away for lunch, head downtown for Riverfront Eats. Food trucks will be set up near the Orange Howard Street Bridge, so grab something good and enjoy a little time along the river.

2. Spend an Evening at the Kendall Yards Night Market
Wednesday, August 26 | 5–8:30 p.m. | Kendall Yards
There aren’t many summer evenings left for the Kendall Yards Night Market. Walk through the market, check out the local vendors, grab something to eat and enjoy the views over the river. It’s an easy way to spend a Wednesday night without having to plan much of anything.

3. Try a Free Outdoor Workout
Tuesday, August 25 | 6–7 p.m. | Riverfront Park
If you’re looking for something a little different, Riverfront Moves is offering a free outdoor strength-training class with Amore Movement. It’s open to all fitness levels and might be a fun way to change up your normal routine.

4. Go Peach Picking at Green Bluff
Late August | Green Bluff
This might be my favorite one on the list. Peach season is here at Green Bluff.
Several of the farms have peaches available this time of year, with both U-pick and already-picked options depending on what’s ripe. I’d make an afternoon of it — head up to Green Bluff, stop at a couple of farms and come home with a box of fresh peaches.
Just be sure to check availability before you go. What’s ready to pick can change quickly this time of year.

5. Learn to Make Fresh Pasta
Sunday, August 30 | 11 a.m.–12:45 p.m. | The Kitchen Engine
Here’s something you don’t do every weekend. The Kitchen Engine is holding a Pasta Making 101 class where you can learn how to make fresh pasta dough and turn it into homemade noodles.
Grab a friend or make it a date and learn something you can actually use again at home.

6. Make Your Own Charcuterie Board
Sunday, August 30 | 4–6 p.m. | The Kitchen Engine
If pasta isn’t your thing, The Kitchen Engine also has a Boards & Bubbles charcuterie workshop Sunday afternoon. You’ll learn how to put together a beautiful charcuterie board and take your creation home when you’re done.

Enjoy These Last Days of Summer
Before we trade peaches and farmers markets for pumpkins and fall leaves, get outside and enjoy a little more Spokane summer.
Pick some peaches. Walk through the night market. Have lunch by the river. Try something you haven’t done before.
Summer isn’t over quite yet.
And if you’re starting to think about a move this fall — or you’re simply curious what your home might be worth in today’s Spokane market — I’d be happy to help! Call me at 509.979.5894
